Combining melodic synthwave layers, 80s synthpop elements and contemporary R’N’B vibes, this new collaborative rework of Luxembourg based electronic producers Them Lights & Ryvage (French pronunciation: (/riːˈvɑːʒ) marries 2 musical universes as different as complementary. Ryvage’s synth-driven electro-pop and electro tracks are spanning from 80s sci-fi movie soundtracks to industrial electro while Them Lights’ vocals and groovy soundscapes cover a wide range of genres from electronica and pop to R’n’B. Ryvage’s rework of “Yesterday" (original track released by Them Lights in 2018) combines the essential elements of both worlds in a subtle and catchy tune.

Ryvage about the creative process: “I only kept the vocals of the original track and wrote a whole new song around it. I didn’t follow a clear conceptual line but had a vague idea of where I wanted to go sonically. I really like this approach as it allows a very interesting combination between artistic freedom and constraint that I am looking for as a producer. There is a tension between contemplation and despair, between calm and urgency in Them Lights’ lyrics that I wanted to amplify musically. The track is exploring universal topics like memory and the weight of the past... those decisions we took and that are still haunting us & preventing us from moving on.”
